Thread: What is the meaning of legal position and legal consequences?

Anyone care to explain what is the meaning of legal position and legal consequences?

I got it in my assignment question below:

Title:
With reference to relevant case law, explain the distinctions among the legal position
(including, but not limited to, the legal consequences) in the following situations –
1) an agreement to do something which was prohibited by a particular legislation at the
time of contracting;
2) a contract of which the performance depends on an event happening and that event
has become impossible to occur; and
3) a contract to do an act which was made illegal by amendments in a particular
legislation subsequent to the making of the contract.

Legal position probably means the position of the person according to the contractual obligations that he has agreed to undertake. That is, the duty that the person has undertook under the contract and the way he should act inside the contract to fulfill that duty. In simple words, you should say how the person has to act inside the contract and what influences or limits his actions (common law, statute law and natural law principles) If I wasn't clear, I can elaborate further.
